Despite a difficult weekend in Tokyo for the Porsche team, they do leave the Japanese capital with something to celebrate.
Due to the accumulated points from their customer teams, Andretti and Cupra Kiro, they have won this season’s Manufacturers’ Championship.
This is the second season in a row that they have won the championship, and they are the only team to win the championship since it became fully integrated with the Formula E World Championship, although Jaguar did win what was called the Manufacturers Cup in 2024 before it became an official part of the championship.
Porsche can now also proudly claim to have built the most successful entry of the Gen 3 era; they have secured five of the ten World Championship titles, meaning that the Porsche 99X Electric is the most decorated machinery of the regulation period even before the final two rounds of the season in London, where they still have a chance to clinch the Drivers’ and Teams’ championships.
An FIA World Championship title to mark 75 years of Porsche Motorsport – that is a major success. As a manufacturer, we remain at the top of electric motorsport with this title and continue to shape technical progress. And we are working hard to keep it that way when the new Porsche 975 RSE lines up next year for the fourth generation of Formula E cars.
