It has been reported by The Race that Lola has acquired the Formula E entrance license from ABT.

That means that Lola are now the sole owners of the license to compete although they remain in an operational partnership with ABT, they also become the seventh registered manufacturer in the championship.

Lola has already committed to remaining in Formula E through the Gen 4 era (2026 onwards). In 2023 there were discussions held by British businessman Till Bechtolsheimer with the FIA about acquiring a 12th license to enter the championship as a bespoke team but these talks broke down and following discussions about Lola buying into the MSG and later ERT teams eventually culminated in Lola buying into ABT operations.

It was also confirmed that the team have secured the partnership of PACETEQ a specialist firm who have worked with both the Mercedes and their successor McLaren Formula E teams.
